I’m no master chef, but that’s kind of the point of this recipe… It’s so easy that you don’t have to be! I learned this from my dad, and it’s become one of my wife & kid’s favorite meals of all time. It’s great for both fresh salmon and salmon that’s been in the freezer for several months as the soy effect will neutralize any fishiness that’s developed from being in the freezer for a lengthy time.
1. Cut your fillet into portion-sized pieces and place in a large pan.2. Add minced garlic on top, or sprinkle with garlic salt.
3. Add a 1/1 mixture of soy sauce and water so that the liquid covers about half way up the fillet; about 1 cup of each usually does the trick.
4. Cover and cook over a medium flame.
5. In a separate pan, super-heat a couple tablespoons of olive oil.
6. When the fish is almost done, turn off the flame and then drizzle the super-heated olive oil over the fish pieces.
7. Add chopped green onions on top.
8. Serve with French bread (the soy sauce mix makes a great bread dip!)
Disclaimer: When I cook I often “wing it” with some measurements so if you’re a by-the-book type, play with the exact amounts and dial in exactly how much of each ingredient is perfect for you.
I predict you’ll LOVE the flavor of the salmon that’s created from the soy sauce mixture, and as a major bonus you can use the extra sauce from the pan as a dip for your French bread… SO GOOD!
Hope you enjoy, and please give us feedback once you try this recipe out 🙂
